What it does
The Contact information section of Applore’s Home screen has tools for keeping your contacts in order.
- Duplicate Contacts: find contacts that share a name, a phone number or an email address, grouped so you can review them.
- Merge now: combine a group into one contact with all its numbers, emails and addresses.
- Backup: save your contacts as a vCard file (.vcf) to a folder on your phone or to your own Google Drive.
- Import: add contacts from a vCard file on your phone or in your Google Drive.
- All Contacts and Accounts: browse and search contacts, filter by account, delete contacts, save a contact to your SIM, or open it in your phone’s contacts app.
How it works
Applore asks for Contacts permission the first time you open a contacts tool. It needs it to read your contacts, find duplicates and write the merged contact.
Merge duplicate contacts
- Back up your contacts first (see below).
- Open Duplicate Contacts and choose By Name, By Number or By Duplicate Email.
- Open a group and select the primary contact. The merged contact keeps its name, photo and account.
- Tap Merge now and confirm.
Merging deletes the original contacts and creates one new contact with their details combined. It cannot be undone.
Back up and import contacts
- Open Backup in the Contact information section.
- Choose a folder on your phone, or Google Drive.
- For Google Drive, choose your Google account and allow Applore to save files in your Drive.
- To restore, open Import and pick the vCard file from your phone or your Drive.
What stays on your phone
- Applore reads, merges and deletes contacts on your phone.
- A backup to a folder stays on your phone.
- A backup to Google Drive goes straight to your own Drive, through the Google permission you give. Applore’s servers never receive your contacts.

Good to know
- vCard only. Backups use the .vcf format. There is no CSV export.
- Backups are copies, not sync. A backup shows your contacts at the moment you made it. Make a new one after big changes.
- Accounts matter. Your phone may keep contacts in several accounts, such as Google or the SIM. Check which account the merged contact belongs to.
- Duplicates can come back if another account or app syncs the old contacts again. Check your account sync settings if that happens.

Questions
Can I undo a contact merge?
No. Merging deletes the original contacts and creates one new contact with their details combined, and there is no undo button. If you backed up your contacts first, you can import that vCard backup to get the originals back. You may then need to delete the merged contact. Back up before you merge.
What format is the contacts backup?
A vCard file (.vcf), the standard contacts format that most phones, email services and contact apps can import. Applore does not export contacts as a CSV spreadsheet. You can save the vCard file to a folder on your phone or to your own Google Drive, and import it again from either place.
Does Applore upload my contacts to its servers?
No. Applore reads and changes your contacts on your phone. If you back up to Google Drive, the vCard file goes from your phone straight to your own Drive, through the Google permission you give. Applore's servers never receive your contacts. Vaults, passwords and backups.
How many contacts can I merge in Applore Free?
Applore Free lets you merge 5 contacts per day. Finding duplicates, backing up and importing have no daily limit. When you reach the limit, Applore offers the upgrade. Applore Pro has no merge limit, so you can merge every duplicate group at once. Compare Free and Pro.
