What Applore will and won't do
Security apps are easy to oversell. This page says in plain words what Applore does, what it cannot see, and what it is not, so you can decide before you install it and know what a result means afterwards.

In one paragraph
Applore is an Android phone assistant. Its free safety tools compare the apps on your phone with a reviewed list of known stalkerware and harmful apps, flag apps that behave like hidden monitoring apps, and walk you through the settings someone could change with brief access to your phone. It also locks apps you choose behind a PIN, pattern or fingerprint, keeps passwords and (in Pro) photos in a private vault, and does everyday jobs such as uninstalling several apps at once. It is not an antivirus, a cleaner or an anti-theft app, and it tells you what it cannot see.
What Applore will do
| It will | How, and where to read more |
|---|---|
| Check installed apps against a reviewed, signed list of known stalkerware and harmful apps | The list combines public indicators from Echap, the Mobile Verification Toolkit project and ESET. Applore checks for a new signed list about once a day. Harmful apps are matched by signing certificate or exact file, never by name alone. How detection works |
| Flag apps that behave like hidden monitoring apps | An app installed from outside an app store that hides its icon or holds accessibility, notification or device admin access is flagged for your review, as is an app that copies a popular app without the real publisher’s signature. Suspicious App Checker |
| Show what Google Play Protect reports | If Play Protect is on, the apps it reports as harmful are listed with Play Protect named as the source. Play Protect and stalkerware |
| Tell you in plain words why an app was flagged | Each flagged app has an explanation: what it can see or do, where it came from, when it was installed, whether it is hidden. |
| Remind you until you act on a serious finding | After about an hour, later that day, the next day, then daily for a week and weekly after that. The reminder never names the app. On the lock screen it shows only Applore. When the phone is unlocked it reads Security check needed: an app may be monitoring this phone, without saying which one. Swiping it away does not clear it. |
| Treat parental and family apps fairly | Monitoring apps installed from an app store are labelled monitoring app, not spyware, and shown separately. Monitoring apps and stalkerware |
| Walk you through the settings someone could change | Safety Check opens each place in turn: signed-in devices, account access, location sharing, Family Link, photo partner sharing, Gmail forwarding, WhatsApp linked devices, accessibility, notification access and device admin apps. Safety Check |
| Help you think before you remove something | Five steps: are you safe to look now, why removing an app at once can alert the installer, save a report on your phone, talk to someone, then remove or trust the app with your PIN. Before you remove a suspicious app |
| List support hotlines and leave fast | Talk to someone lists services for India, the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries. Quick exit closes Applore in one tap and removes it from Recents. Hotlines and Quick exit |
| Lock apps you choose | PIN, pattern or fingerprint, with Lock Groups and PIN recovery on your own phone. App Lock |
| Keep passwords, and in Pro photos and videos, in a private vault | Password Vault with autofill, backed up only to your own Google Drive and only if you turn backup on. Vault Gallery and Private Camera are Pro. Password Vault · Vault Gallery |
| Show what changed while your phone was out of your hands (Pro) | Save a snapshot before a repair or a loan, compare when it is back. Phone back check |
| Keep the check on your phone | Scans run on the phone. Findings, the trust list and snapshots stay on the device. The list of installed apps is not sent to analytics or advertisers. Data and privacy |
| Do the everyday jobs | Uninstall several apps at once, back up app files, find duplicate files and contacts, set app time limits, run hardware tests. All features |
| Work in 21 languages | Including English, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. |
What Applore won’t do
- It won’t find every spying app. New or unknown apps, apps in a work profile or Private Space, preinstalled system apps and tools that need a rooted phone can be missed. A Not flagged result does not prove the phone is clean.
- It won’t tell you your phone is “hacked” or “infected”. It flags apps with warning signs and tells you what those signs are. You decide.
- It won’t block, remove or clean anything on its own. Nothing is uninstalled without you. Applore is not an antivirus and has no cleaner or booster.
- It won’t see spying that happens outside apps. A shared Google account, call or message forwarding set up with a carrier, or an implant in the phone’s system software are outside what any app check can see. Safety Check points you to the account settings, but it cannot inspect them for you.
- It won’t find a lost or stolen phone, block calls, scan your Wi-Fi or give you a VPN. Those are different products.
- It won’t send your list of apps anywhere. The exception is App Category, which sends package names to Applore’s server only when you open it, and says so.
- Its safety reminder won’t name the app it found. On the lock screen it shows only Applore. Unlocked, it says Security check needed and that an app may be monitoring the phone, without saying which one.
- It won’t rush you. No step in the safety tools tells you to delete an app immediately, because removing a monitoring app can alert the person who installed it.
- It won’t call anyone or send anything from the hotlines screen until you choose to.
- It won’t promise encryption it does not have. We describe the vaults as private spaces that open only inside Applore, and we will say more only when the code earns it.
What Applore is not
Applore is not an antivirus, a phone cleaner, a booster, an anti-theft app, a VPN or a call blocker. It does not monitor anyone else’s phone, and we do not build tools for that. If you are looking for a product that promises complete protection, we are not it, and we would rather you knew that before you install.
