How detection works
How the check decides, and its limits
Applore compares the apps on your phone with a reviewed, signed threat list. It combines public indicators from Echap, the Mobile Verification Toolkit project and ESET. Each update is reviewed and published by hand, and Applore checks for a new signed list about once a day. Known harmful apps are matched by signing certificate or exact file, never by name alone. If Google Play Protect is on, Applore also shows the apps Play Protect reports as harmful.
Applore also looks for warning signs that no list covers yet, such as a sideloaded app with a hidden icon and accessibility access. The check runs on your phone, and anything it flags is yours to review.

What stays on your phone

- Findings, the trust list and snapshots are stored only on the device.
- Checking for threat-list updates sends nothing about your apps.
- Vault and password backups go to your own Google Drive, and only when you turn backup on.
- Signing in with Google is optional for most tools. Setting up an App Lock PIN or pattern currently asks you to sign in.
Some things do leave the phone, and the privacy policy lists each one: your account details if you sign in, app names when you open App Category, crash reports and analytics, and ad data in Applore Free.
