Applore vs Certo for checking an Android phone
Applore and Certo both offer a way to check an Android phone for monitoring apps. If you are comparing a Certo alternative for Android, this page sets out what each one states it checks, how they are paid for, and what each one's Play Data safety section says.
This comparison is based on public documentation and store listings as they were on 15 September 2026. If something has changed or is wrong, email info@applore.io and we will check it.

Where Applore is different
- Safety tools are free and show no ads. Needs your review, Safety Check, safe-removal steps, support hotlines and Quick exit are free in Applore Free and Applore Pro. No ads appear on those screens.
- A published indicator list. Applore checks installed apps against a reviewed list of known stalkerware based on the public Echap indicators, which anyone can read. [4] It also flags sideloaded apps that behave like hidden monitoring apps, for example a hidden icon combined with accessibility or notification access.
- Limits stated up front. Applore says what its check can miss (see below). A result that finds nothing does not prove the phone is clean.
- Safety Check. A guided review of settings someone could change with brief access to the phone, such as screen lock, accessibility services and device admin apps. Applore opens the right settings screen for each item.
- Steps before removal. If Applore flags an app, it walks you through five steps before you remove it: whether you are safe now, why not to remove it straight away, creating a report on your phone, talking to someone, and then deciding. Removing a monitoring app can alert the person who installed it.
Where Certo is different
- Wider scan. Certo states that its app detects “spyware, stalkerware, viruses and trojans”, as well as keyloggers and rooting. [1] Applore is not an antivirus and does not check for rooting.
- Background protection in Premium. Certo states that Premium “works around the clock… scanning automatically in the background”. [1] Applore’s checks run on a schedule and can be delayed by battery saving.
- Intruder alerts in Premium. Certo states that Premium can “get alerts, trigger a loud alarm, or secretly snap a photo” when someone tries to access the device. [1] Applore does not advertise a feature like this.
- VPN and breach check. Certo lists a Breach Check in Premium and Certo Secure VPN in Premium Plus. [1] Applore has neither.
- Money-back guarantee. Certo’s page offers a “30-Day Money-Back Guarantee” on its paid plans. [1]
What Applore cannot do
Privacy and permissions
Both summaries are quoted from each app’s Google Play Data safety section, checked on 15 September 2026.
Certo: Anti Spyware & VPN [2]
- Shared: no data shared with third parties.
- Collected: diagnostics, app interactions, and device or other IDs, for analytics.
- Security: data is encrypted in transit, and you can request that data be deleted.
Applore [3]
- Shared: device or other IDs, for app functionality and analytics.
- Collected: app interactions, for app functionality.
- Security: data is encrypted in transit, and you can request that data be deleted.
Applore’s stalkerware check runs on your phone, and the list of installed apps is not sent to analytics. To inspect every installed app, Applore declares the query all packages permission. Read how detection works and the privacy policy section on the check.
